Oral Pathology Services

It may be a dentist or doctor that first notices signs of malignancy in your mouth during an oral cancer screening or routine examination. Therefore, you should see an oral surgeon right away if you notice symptoms such as unusual lumps or sores in the mouth, white or red patches on the tongue or interior of the cheeks. Once a diagnosis has been made, your doctor or dentist may refer you Dr. Petryna for evaluation and/or treatment.

Mouth ulcers are lesions or small bumps that can develop in several locations in you mouth including the tongue. At your dental exam, if you dentist notices irregularities in your mouth or tongue you would be referred to Dr. Petryna for evalaution and/or treatment.
